SUNDAY STORES | GIVING OUR WINGS A TRY
#SundayStories are back .. I wasn't sure I was going to keep posting them in this new year. Thank you to the ones who noticed I paused, to the ones who told me these actually do make an impact, and to the ones who gave me needed encouragement or inspo lately. đ
... which brings me to today's:
GIVING OUR WINGS A TRY
There's a "riding with no hands" thing in cycling. I've never really tried it. Admittedly, I always assumed I couldn't really do it. đŹđ
Today I tried it and my husbabe did it too. This is us pictured here. đŠ đŠ đđ„°
He's more practiced. He used to do it a lot and despite the hiatus - he was bang on with it today. đ„ł
I was able to do it today a lot longer than I imagined. It was hard, fun and made me realize if I practice, I'll really get it.
As simple as today's message is - I do think it's important for evolving leaders so here it is:
LET'S GIVE OUR WINGS A TRY, LEADERS
If we're new to whatever it is - we won't be perfect at it right away and when we ditch our ego and keep at it - we'll improve with practice.
If we're practiced and rusty - it might come back easier than we expected.
If we're pros at it - we can tap into it to help bring others along.
We don't really know until we try - we can hold ourselves back by not even trying - and we can pass on expertise to others who are learning.
While I'm at it - if we find ourselves around people who are trying to clip our wings - they need to go figuratively and literally. Let's flap big - get air - and leave them in our rear view.
LET'S GIVE OUR WINGS A TRY, LEADERS
